Welcome!

In this workshop, you’ll learn the practical steps you can take now to set up your business to be a sellable asset in the future, even if you never intend to sell.

A little of my story...

In 2006, I founded a large-scale tutoring center, and I was doing my life's work. Just two years later, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I was forced to step back, take a hard look at my business, and ask myself difficult questions:

Could the business continue without me?

Did I have systems and processes in place?

Were my policies and procedures clearly documented?

The honest answer was no. Most of the business existed only in my head.

From that point forward, I took intentional, methodical steps to build systems, document processes, create procedures, and increase the overall value of the business.

In 2014, I successfully sold my first tutoring business for a six-figure profit. This workshop is a summary of the exact steps I took over the years to transform my business into a valuable, sellable asset.

What if you are in a solo practice? Do these steps apply? Absolutely! In 2018, I opened my solo private practice, and I'm applying the same steps to set up my business to be a sellable asset as I did with the large-scale tutoring center with a team!

Meet the Teacher

Welcome!

I’m Dr. Cathleen Killeen-Pittman, founder of Our Learning Studio in High Point, North Carolina. I specialize in executive function coaching for students and adults—helping people build the skills they need to stay organized, manage their time, follow through on goals, and feel more in control of their work and daily lives.

Through one-on-one coaching, online courses, workshops, and practical, personalized strategies, I support students, parents, educators, and business owners across the country. Whether I’m helping a student keep up with school demands, a parent support their child more effectively, or a business owner streamline their workflow, my goal is always the same: to build confidence and create systems that actually work in real life.

I’ve spent more than 28 years in education, serving as both a teacher and administrator in public schools and higher education. One of the most meaningful parts of my career was spending 15 years as a beginning teacher evaluator, where I conducted thousands of classroom observations and mentored new teachers through their first three years. That experience deeply shaped how I support both educators, students, and parents today.

In 2006, I took the leap into entrepreneurship and opened my first large-scale tutoring center. Today, in my private practice, I focus on helping students and adults develop the executive function skills they need to stay organized, manage time effectively, and follow through with confidence.

In addition to working with students and families, I partner with tutoring business owners and other professionals to strengthen the executive function systems behind their businesses—helping them operate more efficiently and build practices that are sustainable and streamlined. Having successfully built and sold my first tutoring center, I bring both educational and real-world business insight to this work.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration.
